No nominations filed for MC poll on Day 1

No nominations were received on the first day of filing process for the Municipal Corporation, Council and Panchayat polls. In Patiala, votes are to be cast across 60 wards on December 21.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) -cum- Additional District Election Officer Anuprita Johal said the candidates wishing to contest the elections can submit their nomination papers to the respective Returning Officers by 3 pm on December 12.

Johal informed that there are 242 polling booths in the Patiala Municipal Corporation, adding that for ward numbers 1 to 14 the Returning Officer will be RTO Naman Markan.

Similarly, for wards 15 to 20, Patiala SDM Manjit Kaur will receive nomination papers. For ward numbers 30 to 45, EO-cum-Assistant Commissioner (J) Patiala, Richa Goyal, DRO, will receive nomination papers at the District Administrative Complex.

Further, for ward numbers 46 to 60, Nabha SDM Dr. Ismat Vijay Singh will receive nominations at the Committee Room, District Administrative Complex.
