Patiala, June 24

Students of Punjabi University will now be able to pursue two courses at the same time. The university announced the decision through a notification released today.

The university stated, “A student can pursue two academic courses, one in full time physical mode and another in open and distance learning (ODL) or upto two courses simultaneously in the ODL, both being offered by Punjabi University.”

The university further stated, “Degree and

diploma courses under these guidelines shall be governed by regulations notified by the UGC and also respective statutory councils.”

“Importantly, the guidelines will be applicable for students pursuing courses other than the PhD,” the university added.

As per the guidelines, which the UGC released through a notification in April recently, “A student can pursue two full time academic courses in physical mode provided that in such cases, class timings for one course do not overlap with the class timings of the other course.”
