Overbridge on Patiala-Sangrur road damaged

A part of an overbridge on the Patiala-Sangrur road constructed in 2004-05 by the Border Road Organisation (BRO) has damaged due to corrosion in one of its pillars. The NHAI has stopped the traffic on the road and started the process for its repair.

Officials at the department said the traffic on the road was put on halt on July 1 after damage to the over-bridge was reported. Vishal Sharma, project director, NHAI, said, “The matter was reported to us a few days ago. We have paid visits to the site and found corrosion in one of the pillars beneath led to the settling. We have discussed the matter with senior engineers at the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology and have started the process of repairing.”
