Patiala civic body invites objections over CLU

After instructions of the Local Government Department, the Municipal Corporation has sought objections from the public over allowing change of land use of residential properties adjacent to commercial properties on the roads declared commercial stretches.

Manoj Kumar, ATP of Municipal Corporation, said the instructions had come from the Local Government Department. “Now, the MC has sought objections from the residents. As per the instructions, the residential plots adjacent to or behind the commercial plots that abut roads declared commercial stretches can be clubbed together as commercial properties after CLU to be used as such.”

The size of plot abutting the commercial road should be of at least 500 square yard in size. This is to ensure provisions of proper parking space. Also, no ingress or egress will be allowed from the rear side while leaving a rear setback will also be mandatory. The connection for various services will be allowed from the front side only. — TNS
