During the visit, she directed L&T Project Officer Sukhdev Jha and officials of the Water Supply & Sewerage Board to expedite the tiling work and immediately relieve the inconvenience being faced by residents and commuters.

Yadav said while the laying of two major water pipelines in the area has been completed and traffic movement has resumed, the tiling of the dug-up stretch is still pending, causing hardship to the public.

She warned that if the work is not completed promptly, responsibility will rest with the concerned officers. She also instructed that the remaining tasks should be completed on a war footing, working round the clock if necessary.

The DC emphasised that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the district administration was committed to addressing citizens’ concerns and ensuring uninterrupted 24×7 canal water supply to city residents.

She also directed the Traffic Police, Public Works Department, Municipal Corporation, L&T Company and the Water Supply Department to make adequate arrangements for smooth traffic flow around Jail Road, Sirhind Road and Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib. With the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur approaching in November, she said, special attention must be paid to facilitate devotees and drivers in this busy corridor.
