Patiala girl Asees bags skeet silver at national meet

Patiala-based shotgun shooter, Asees Chhina, secured the silver medal in the women’s skeet shooting category at the 67th National Shooting Championship Competitions (NSCC) being held at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range, New Delhi.

Chhina hit 112 of the 125 targets to enter the finals in the fifth place. She then climbed the ranks to finish second in the medal round just ahead of Razia Dhillon, who took home the bronze.

The gold medal, meanwhile, was bagged by Ganemat Sekhon.

“I have been working hard from the past few years and it feels nice to have won a national silver. I am thankful to my coach Jodhbir Singh for ensuring that I am technically correct and mentally focused in the run up to the event,” Chhina said after her win.
