Patiala professor among top 0.014 per cent academics globally in Stanford University ranking
Senior professor is editor for top Q1 journals by Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, and American Society of Civil Engineers
In a rare achievement, Rafat Siddique, Senior Professor and Dean at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, has been ranked among the top 0.014 per cent of academics globally in the Stanford University Rankings 2025.
Stanford University has recently released its World Ranking of the top two per cent Academics/Scientists, which spans across all subjects/disciplines, including medicine. These rankings are based on metrics such as total citations, h-index and co-authorship adjusted hm-index, and composite c-score citations derived from authorship position (first, last, single).
Professor Siddique has achieved a global rank of 3,383 out of 2,30,334 academics.
Additionally, in his research domain of building and construction, Professor Siddique has been ranked first in India and seventh in the world.
Professor Siddique has constantly featured in the top 0.025 per cent of academics globally since the inception of the Stanford ranking in 2019.
A PhD from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, Professor Siddique completed his postdoctoral research at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, USA. With over 35 years of teaching, research, and executive experience, he has to his authored over 250 Q1 journal articles and over 80 conference papers, having total citations of over 31,000 and an h-index of 93.
He also serves as editor for top Q1 journals published by Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
