Patiala: Rally to create awareness on voluntary blood donation

Patiala, June 14

The Department of Immunohematology and Blood Transfusion, Government Medical College, Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, organised a rally to create awareness among general public about voluntary blood donation on World Blood Donor Day.

Senior faculty members of the college, medical students, faculty members of nursing college, students, different organisations and voluntary blood donors participated in the rally.

Harjinder Singh, Director-Principal, Government Medical College, Patiala, said: “The World Blood Donor Day is celebrated every year around the world to salute the spirit of voluntary blood donors, thanks to which millions of precious lives are saved. Besides, it aims to spread the message of blood donation door-to-door by highlighting the role of voluntary blood donors in the safe blood donation movement.”
