Patiala: Samples collected from Gopal Sweets outlet
Patiala, July 14
A team of the Health Department collected samples from a Gopal Sweets outlet at the Urban Estate here today.
Giving details, District Health Officer (DHO) Parvinder Pal Kaur said the team collected a sample each of white barfi, kaju-pista barfi and white pasta sauce. She added, “The samples will be sent to a lab for testing. Requisite action will be initiated if the samples are found unhygienic or unfit for human consumption.”
The DHO said the department had collected 20 samples of various food items in the district in the past 14 days to check adulteration. The official said they would intensify checking and collect samples from milk dairies and vendors as well.
It may be mentioned that a day before, a team of the Food Safety Department, Haryana, had collected samples from an outlet of Gopal Sweets in Panchkula following complaints of fungus in sweets.
