Patiala theatre fest begins with ‘Hind Di Chadar’

The event is being held in the memory of late Pritam Singh Oberoi at the Kalidas Auditorium

The annual National Theatre Festival, being organised by Kalakriti, a renowned theatre organisation of North India, in collaboration with the North Zonal Cultural Centre, Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust and the Languages Department of Punjab, kicked off today with play “Hind Di Chadar”.

The event is being held in the memory of late Pritam Singh Oberoi at the Kalidas Auditorium, Virsa Vihar Kendra, here. The festival was inaugurated by the Justice MMS Bedi.

The play “Hind Di Chadar” was staged by Impact Arts. It was written by Ravinder Singh Sodhi and directed by well-known theatre artist and film actor Baninderjit Singh Bunny. The play is based on the martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur.

The stage artistes mesmerised the audience with their beautiful acting.

Natak mela held

To commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the National Theatre Arts Society (NTAS), in collaboration with North Zone Culture Centre, organised two “Natak Melas” at Sr Citizens Welfare Association (SCWA) and Padma Shri Dr Khushdeva Singh Colony. President of the SCWA SP Kaul and NTAS director Pran Sabharwal, dedicated the event to Guru Tegh Bahadur.
