Patiala win Katoch Shield, beat Asr on 1st innings lead

Patiala won the Katoch Shield trophy by defeating Amritsar on the basis of the first innings lead today. After winning the toss Amritsar skipper put Patiala to bat. The side posted 360 runs in 102.2 overs.
Fatehveer (98 off 151 balls), Sanvir Singh (78 off 126 balls) and Prabhsimran Singh (72 off 93 balls) scored for the side. Rohit claimed a five-wicket haul for the bowling side. In reply, Amritsar lads were all out for 188 runs in 54.3 overs. Abhishek Sharma scored 65 runs off 65 balls to remain the best scorer for the side. Aryaman took five wickets and Mayank Markande grabbed four for the bowling side.
In their second innings, Patiala scored 462/8 in 106 overs with the help of Jashanpreet Singh (197 off 257 balls) , Jiwanjot Singh (60 runs off 100 balls), Anmolpreet (53 runs off 74 balls) and Ikjot Singh Thind (52 off 79 balls). Rohit Kumar (3/123) and Ramandeep (2/70) were the two main wicket takers for the side. In reply, Amritsar scored 450/5 in 90 overs. Abhishek (122 runs off 107 balls), Abhay Choudhary (106 runs off 150 balls) and Salil Arora (100 runs off 110 balls) scored majority of the runs. Anmolpreet claimed two wickets for the bowling side. Chief guest Bhupinder Singh, chairman cricket advisory committee along with Deepak Sharma, CEO, Punjab Cricket Association, awarded the winners with a prize of Rs 2,00,000, while Amritsar was awarded runners-up trophy and a prize of Rs 1,00,000.
