Poets of Dutch, French, Tibetan, Santhali, Punjabi, Hindi, English, Assamese and several other languages enthralled the audience with their unique poetic verses during the two-day Chair Poetry Sangat International Poetry Festival held at Punjabi University.

The festival is being organised by Sangat Punjab and Chair Poetry Evenings (Kolkata) in collaboration with the Department of Punjabi, Punjabi University, and the Department of Languages, Government of Punjab at the University Science Auditorium.

Poets who presented their work in this session included Kira Wuck, Mélanie Leblanc, Tenzing Tsundue, Kewal Binabi, P. Raman, Robin Ngangom, Chandar Prakash Deval, Rakesh Ranjan, Nirmala Putul Murmu, Anshuman Kar, Pal Kaur, Adnan Kafeel Darvesh, Priyavanda Singh Ilhan, Gurtej Koharwala, Ambarish, Gurpreet, Ajitpal Jattana, Bipanpreet, Narinderpal Kaur, Mukesh Alam and Anu Bala.

Dr Surjit Singh, President of Sangat Punjab, said the Chair Poetry Sangat International Poetry Festival was a unique platform for multilingual poetry. It brings Indian and international poets together on one stage, creating an enriching exchange of poetry in diverse languages that continues to captivate audiences.

Poet Swami Antar Neerav remarked that the festival, with its celebration of multicultural and multilingual essence, will prove to be an important platform for nurturing literary sensibility among the younger generation.

Festival Director Sahajmeet told that Punjabi and English translations of the poems read by the poets were also presented. The sessions were ably anchored by poet Neetu, Sehajmeet, Alisha and Manjeet.
