Gazette Officers and other police officers of the district are visiting villages in their respective areas to interact with villagers, youth clubs, NGOs, religious heads, and sports club members to seek their cooperation to make Fatehgarh Sahib a drug-free district.

Khamano SHO Sandeep Singh visited four villages — Faro, Ranwan Ucha, Jatana Niwan, Jatana Ucha, and Manderan — today. He said the campaign would continue until he covered all the villages in his area.

SSP Ravjot Grewal said a fight against drugs has been launched in the district, and all the Gazette Officers and other police officials have been directed to visit all the villages in their areas to apprise people of the ill effects of drugs. She said the aim of the programme is to gather information on drug peddlers, particularly chemists, and to apprise people of the treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts as drugs destroy personal lives and also the social and economic status of their families.
