Punjabi University, Patiala, today held a programme on proliferation of Punjabi language, culture and literature in Europe and UK along with moderator of European Punjabi society, UK, Mota Singh Sarai.

Dr Harjodh Singh, in charge, Bhai Veer Singh chair on the campus, said, “The society based in UK is instrumental in publishing various books in Punjabi, Hindi and English and distributes them among people for free.”

Sarai said the main objective of the society was the proliferation of Punjabi language, literature and culture. He shared his experiences abroad and said Punjabi language was the most important factor of Punjabi people’s association among themselves abroad. Sarai was honoured on the occasion.
