SAD’s Malwa zone incharge joins AAP
Patiala, February 14
In yet another jolt to the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in Patiala, one of its senior leaders and incharge of the party’s Malwa zone, Harpal Juneja, joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Juneja’s father Bhagwan Das Juneja, a social worker, has also joined the AAP.
Harpal was inducted into the party by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He had contested the last Assembly elections from Patiala (urban) on a SAD ticket. Harpal was ‘sidelined’ by the party after it replaced him with Amit Rathi last year.
Rathi had worked in the Students Organisation of India, the student wing of the SAD.
Harpal had left for abroad, which led to his replacement.
SAD leader Bikram Singh and senior vice-president of the Youth Akali Dal (YAD) Gurlal Bhangu and Majha zone in-charge of Youth Akali Dal Gursharan Singh Chhina also joined the AAP.
