Krisha Verma from Samana has won gold in the women’s 75kg category at the inaugural U-19 World Boxing Championships held in Colorado, US. She secured a unanimous 5-0 victory over Germany’s Simon Lerika in the final. This win makes her the first-ever Indian U-19 world champion in boxing.

District Sports Officer Harpinder Singh stated that it was a matter of great pride for people of the state. Krisha Verma, a prodigy of Sunny Dutta Boxing Club, Samana, has earned a gold medal in the Under-19 World Boxing Championship, bringing glory to her hometown Samana.
