Society distributes sewing machines, rations

Also gives Rs 10,000 financial assistance for a girl’s higher education

City-based civil society group Janhit Samiti, organised a welfare programme at Prabhat Pravana Hall to support underprivileged women, families and students.

Led by president SK Gautam and general secretary state awardee Vinod Sharma, the society distributed 11 sewing machines among the needy women and girls, rations among 10 families, and provided educational fee to 10 students, including Rs 10,000 for a girl’s higher education. Assistance was also extended for the marriage of a girl, and 13 national-level Taekwondo players were honoured.

Chief guest on the occasion BK Bindal, a retired PSPCL Director, praised Janhit Samiti’s ongoing efforts in community service — from running free ambulances and maintaining city parks to supporting patients at Rajindra Hospital. The event was presided over by Raman Gupta and Preetmohan Singh.
