Student crushed to death by tipper in Patiala

A 16-year-old student of Class XI was crushed to death under the wheels of a recklessly driven tipper near Rajpura this morning. The truck driver fled the spot, leaving the vehicle behind.

The victim has been identified as Jasneet Kaur. According to the police, the girl was returning from her school and walking towards her home when the truck hit her.

Her father Balwinder Singh demanded strict action against the driver, who did not help the victim and fled the scene. She was then rushed to the hospital where the doctors declared her dead on arrival. “Earlier, six school students were killed when a tipper hit the vehicle in which the students were travelling, in Samana. I demand strict action against the owner of the tipper and the driver,” he further said.

The Banur police have registered a case and started investigation.
