Sujata Chawla Nabha civic body chief

Sujata Chawla, a councillor from ward number 22, has been elected president of the Nabha Municipal Council. The election took place in the presence of Nabha MLA Gurdev Singh Dev Mann and the SDM, Patiala, today.

Sujata Chawla won on Congress ticket in February 2021 elections. She switched loyalty to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) a few months before the state Assembly elections this year.

Former president of the council, Rajnish Mittal, said he had resigned from the post in May due to illness of his father.

The Nabha municipal council members unanimously elected Sujata Chawla as its president. She has been made the president with support of all Councillors of the Congress and SAD as well.”

Sujata Chawla said, “There are a number of problems in the area, including sewage, supply of water and cleanliness. The council has floated tenders for cleaning of sewage lines. We will work to resolve pending issues of the residents.”
