The Regional Office of the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) in Patiala has conducted extensive inspections at various locations in District Patiala to curb the sale and purchase of the banned Chinese kite string.

The inspections took place Book Markets, Pickle Bazaar and Safabadi Gate. Besides the surprise checks were also carried out in Patran, Samana and Rajpura. During the inspections, no shop was found selling the banned Chinese kite string.

Shopkeepers were urged not to sell the banned product. Additionally, PPCB appeals to the public to avoid using banned china string, manjha, nylon, or synthetic thread for kite flying, as these pose serious environmental and safety hazards.
