The controversy escalated when she staged a protest outside a police station, demanding accountability and action against those she believed were involved in the cover-up. Her public statement on September 21 caused embarrassment for the party and led her expulsion.

Board chairman cites ‘procedural delay’

Meanwhile, District Planning Board Chairman Tajinder Mehta said that the government had named chairpersons and members nearly a month ago but the notification may have been issued today due to the procedural delay.

“However, I have not seen the notification yet. Jindal was suspended from all positions of the party and her appointment as a member of planning board also stands suspended. We will complete the requisite formalities in this regard,” maintained Mehta.
