On the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary, Khalsa College’s NSS wing celebrated National Youth Day. Samana SDM Charanjit Singh and Patiala Assistant Commissioner Ravinder Singh were the chief guests at the event.

Addressing the students, Charanjit Singh said the youth of the country would become the biggest contributors to building the India of tomorrow. In his speech, the SDM gave examples from the life of Swami Vivekananda and said, “While addressing the World Parliament in Chicago, Swamiji highlighted the superiority of Indian culture and also put forth the model of a world community based on Indian thought.”

The college principal, Dr Dharminder Singh Ubha, said that Swami Vivekananda had a deeply spiritual personality. He added that the youth of Punjab have always contributed to the progress of the nation. “Our students have immense potential. The need of the hour is for them to realise this potential and work hard towards their goals, which could contribute to our country’s growth.”
