Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh, along with officials of the district administration, continued his village outreach programmed in Patiala for the second day in a row. During the visits, he listened to residents’ concerns and provided immediate directives to officials for their resolution, with specific timeframes set for task completion. The outreach was conducted under the ‘Tuhada MLA, Tuhade Vichkar’ programme, with Additional Deputy Commissioner Navreet Kaur Sekhon, Patiala SDM Arvind Kumar and other departmental officials beinf present.

Addressing the villagers, Balbir urged them to unanimously elect their panchayat representatives, highlighting that this would promote communal harmony, eliminate factionalism and accelerate village development. He announced that any village in the Patiala rural constituency that elected its panchayat unanimously would receive a Rs 5 lakh grant from the Punjab Government, along with additional amenities such as a stadium, school or hospitals. Balbir also committed an additional Rs 5 lakh from his discretionary funds for such villages, resulting in a total grant of Rs 10 lakh for development projects.

Balbir visited the villages of Mandoor, Hirdapur, Bakhshiwala, Sidhuwal, Jassowal, Seouna, Lang and Challela, engaging with residents and addressing their issues. He said development works were underway in nearly every village within Patiala rural, assuring that these efforts would continue.
