Patiala, October 16

The police have nabbed two close associates of gangster Gagandeep Singh, alias Gaggi Lahoria, in a carjacking case on the Nabha-Chhitawala road on October 8.

The police have also recovered pistols, country-made weapons, 19 cartridges and a shell from them. Officials said Gagandeep was a close associate of gangster Dilpreet Singh Baba.

The arrested persons have been identified as Bikker Singh, a resident of Katiawali, Muktsar Sahib, and Jaswinder Singh, alias Kalu Baba, of Malout, Sri Muktsar Sahib.

Patiala SSP Vikramjit Duggal said Bikker, a close associate of Gaggi Lahoria, was arrested on October 14 from Rohti Bridge, Nabha, with two country-made weapons of .315 bore and .12 bore and seven cartridges. Another member of the gang, Jaswinder Singh, was arrested from near the Mardanhedi bus stand. The police recovered a pistol, cartridges and a country-made pistol from him. — TNS
