The Rajpura police nabbed two drug paddlers with 6 kg of opium on Thursday.

SP (City) Sarfaraz Alam said at a checkpoint near the T-point on the Jandoli Road, ASI Gurvinder Singh, in charge of KSM police post, Rajpura, and his team signalled a car to stop. The two men travelling in the car identified themselves as Sukhveer Singh and Gurpreet Singh, both residents of Mandoli village, near Kheri Gandean.

The police searched the vehicle and found a backpack containing 6 kg of opium hidden under seats. Both Sukhveer and Gurpreet were arrested under Sections 18/61/85 of the NDPS Act. They were produced in a court, which sent them to a five-day police remand.
