Two-day 47th AIESCB Football Tournament concludes at PSPCL Sports Complex
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams representing Haryana Power Sports Group, PSPCL Patiala, MP Power, Bihar SPHC, Rajasthan VN, Telangana Genco, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh
The two-day 47th All India Electricity Sports Control Board (AIESCB) Football Tournament concluded today with a vibrant closing ceremony at the PSPCL Sports Complex.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams representing Haryana Power Sports Group, PSPCL Patiala, MP Power, Bihar SPHC, Rajasthan VN, Telangana Genco, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
Vinod Bansal, Director Finance, Punjab State Transmission Corporation Limited, was the chief guest on the occasion, while Harinder pal, Chief Engineer HRD, PSTCL, was the guest of honour. Both dignitaries addressed the gathering and applauded the sportsmanship displayed throughout the tournament.
In his address, Bansal congratulated all participating teams and highlighted the remarkable sporting culture nurtured by the PSPCL.
He proudly acknowledged achievements of sportspersons, including Arjuna Awardees Madhuri Saxena (Athletics) and Raj Kumar (Badminton), along with international athletes Yogita Sharma, Amarinder Singh, Navdeep Singh, and Harpreet Singh.
He further noted that the PSPCL players excelled in the 46th AIESCB Tournament 2024-25, securing gold medals in football, table tennis, lawn tennis, badminton, hockey, chess and tug of war, while earning silver in volleyball, bodybuilding, wrestling, and cricket.
“Their consistent excellence has enabled the PSPCL to lift the AIESCB Trophy for an unprecedented 15 consecutive years,” he remarked.
Harinder Pal appreciated the dedication of participating teams and lauded the sustained efforts of the PSPCL in promoting sports. He said, “Events like these strengthen camaraderie, motivate our employees, and reflect discipline and commitment that define our organisations.”
AIESCB members Naresh Kumar (General Secretary), Sajjan Kumar (Advisor), Pankaj Dadwal (Advisor) and Anil Kumar (Sports Secretary) were also present on the occasion. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of prizes among winners of the two-day tournament.
