The Rajpura Sadar police have arrested a man and have allegedly seized 500 grams of opium from him. They have registered a case under the NDPS Act and are probing the matter. According to the SHO, the accused has been identified as Ravi from Prem Rajpur village in UP. “We were checking vehicles on the GT Road near Basantpura when the accused got off a bus and started to run towards the opposite side. We nabbed him on the spot and the contraband was recovered from his possession,” said the SHO.

The police said they would question the accused to ascertain from where he bought the drugs and where was he going to supply it.
