Warehousing Corporation official returns bribe money

In an interesting turn of events, an official of Warehousing Corporation has allegedly returned bribe money that he had extracted from certain commission agents of the grain market at Chanarthal village. The commission agents said the manager of the Punjab Warehouse Corporation, Kulwinder Singh, posted at Chanarthal collected Rs 3.5 lakh in bribes from them, adding that they complained to the Chanarthal Market Committee chairman, Gurwinder Dhillon. They said that with his help, the bribe money was returned to them.

Dhillon said Kulwinder Singh took bribes from about 26 shopkeepers in the market. He said he raised this matter with the ADM of Punjab Warehouse Corporation. He said Kulwinder was pressured to return the money or face consequences, adding that the manager returned the bribe money today. He said his priority was to get the bribe money back to the shopkeepers, adding that he would not take up the matter with the Chief Minister.
