Patiala, January 21
Major General BS Grewal (retd), director of Yadavindra Public School (YPS) here, was conferred the lifetime achievement award at the global conference of Principals Progressive Schools’ Association at Uttarakhand.
The two-day conference was held at Pestle Weed School in Dehradun in December. It brought together over 300 teachers and 100 principals of 117 member schools from 18 states under the theme ‘Designing Strategies for Success’. The award, presented to Maj Gen Grewal during the concluding ceremony, is a testament to his exceptional leadership skills, dedication to education and outstanding service to the nation.
Maj Gen Grewal’s illustrious career in the Indian Army, culminating in his retirement as a Major General in 2010, laid the foundation for a post-retirement chapter of contributing to education. He played a pivotal role in founding the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute, which has helped over 250 cadets join various service academies.
His commitment to excellence has not only elevated the position of both institutions, it has now garnered them global recognition. The award is not just a personal achievement but a testament to the transformative impact his vision has had on shaping the future leaders of the country.
