‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ theatre fest organised in Patiala
In view of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s campaign against drug abuse, the National Theatre Arts Society (NTAS) of Patiala organised their 271st monthly garden theatre episode “Yudh Nashian Virudh” (War on Drug) Natak Mela braving chilly rainy weather at Baradari Gardens here.
Besides NTAS presentation of Ajmer Aulakh’s two powerful de-addiction plays — “Avaisly Yuddhan Di Naika” and “Sukki Kukh” some short plays on protection of environment got good applause from audience. NTAS president GS Kakkar effectively dwelt upon government’s dynamic drive against drug abuse in response of which the audience strongly condemned the menace by stretching their hands.
Organised by duo Padma Shri Awardee Pran Sabharwal and Sunita Sabharwal in association with philanthropist Dr SP Singh Oberoi, head, Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust, the effort was much appreciated city residents.
AIG Vikas Sabharwal, Santokh Singh, former Chairman, District Planning Board, Mala Gopal, Akshay Gopal Navyug, Dharampal Singh Chauhan, Harpreet Singh Sodhi and Jasbir Singh Oberoi stressed on the need to strengthen theatre to revive cultural tradition and heritage to protect youth from evils.
