ASI killed as car, truck collide head-on near Raipur Rani

An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Haryana Police lost his life in a road accident near Raipur Rani.

A resident of Jaggi Colony, Ambala, ASI Balwinder Singh was returning home after completing his night shift duty on a Dial-112 Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) at the Raipur Rani police station.

The accident took place near Jatwar village on Narayangarh Road when a speeding truck collided head-on with his private car leaving his vehicle completely crushed.

Fellow Dial-112 personnel rushed to the scene and immediately shifted the injured officer to a local hospital, from where he was referred to Civil Hospital, Ambala City. Doctors, however, declared him dead on arrival.

The police have initiated an investigation into the accident and sent the victim’s body for post-mortem.

Truck mows down biker

Meanwhile, Jageer Singh, a resident of Rampur village, died after a speeding truck hit his motorcycle on the Trilokpur-Tangri Bridge. He fell on the road and sustained critical injuries.

Passers-by alerted emergency services, but Singh died on the way to Civil Hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula. The police sent the body for post-mortem. Truck driver was apprehended.
