The lead actor of Punjabi film Pata Nahin Rabb Kehdeyan Rangan Ch Raazi, Tarun Khanna, has already played the character of Lord Shiva on television for eight times, and he is back again as Mahadev in Devi Aadi Parashakti. He gets talking about what inspires him and how is he adjusting to the new normal.
How is your quarantine time going?
My quarantine time is going great. I am concentrating on myself and working out every day. I am spending time with family, catching up on sleep, movies and shows. But I also feel that it is time to get back to work.
What new things have you learnt?
I have been trying to learn yoga asanas like Bakasana and Mayurasana. And because of practice, I have been successful.
What changes do you see in yourself post Covid-19 and what precautions will you take when you resume work?
I will become cautious. I will always wear a mask, will avoid touching surfaces and unfamiliar people and I will also avoid food from outside.
What advice would you give to people to stay safe?
I will advise people to wear a mask and not to spit in public places. Also, go to the hospital as soon as you notice any symptom.
Which city do you belong to?
I was born and brought up in Delhi, but since I stay in Mumbai now, I would like to say I belong to Mumbai.
Which is the place you visit in Punjab whenever you are in the state?
I always make it a point to visit the Golden Temple. It is a very beautiful place and feels divine to go there.
Which is your favourite Punjabi dish?
I love Punjabi food and it is very difficult to choose one. But if I have to, I’ll say Amritsari chole kulche.
Your favourite Punjabi movie?
Pata Nahi Rabb Kehdeyan Rangan Ch Raazi opposite Neeru Bajwa.
Favorite Punjabi songs?
My favourite song is also from Pata Nahi Rabb Kehdeyan Rangan Ch Raazi and it is called Soniye Heeriye.
Favourite Punjabi actor/actress?
My all-time favourite actor is Gurdas Maan and favourite actress is Nirmal Rishi.
Three places you would recommend your friends to visit in Punjab?
The top three places I would recommend my friends are the Golden Temple, the Gurudwara in Shri Anandpur Sahib and of course, the City Beautiful.
Three Punjabi dishes you cannot do without?
I cannot do without white butter on parantha. It is a must for me. —Dharam Pal
