Rip Van Winkle politics: Congress late to poll reform
IN popular memory, the statement that 'consistency is the virtue of an ass' is often attributed to Jawaharlal Nehru. Apparently, his great-grandson seems to have taken this quite seriously. Had Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi been really serious about his claims of several errors and wrong data entries in electoral rolls, he would neither have objected to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign undertaken by the Election Commission of India (ECI) nor opposed the one nation one election Bill currently under Parliament's consideration.
