MUCH has been said and written about the Pahalgam terror attack of April 2025 and the subsequent Indian military response under Operation Sindoor. Analysts have dissected Pakistan’s motivations, the tactical build-up and India’s assertive countermeasures. However, mostly missing from much of this debate is the one power that did not feature in the headlines, but perhaps emerged with the greatest strategic dividend — China.
