Priyanka seeks administration nod for Shimla cottage visit
Shimla, August 6
AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has sought permission from the district administration to allow her family and friends to spend around 20 days at her Chharabra cottage from August 10.
Priyanka, who has built the three-storey English-style cottage 20 km from here, has sought permission for stay from August 10 to 31. A list of 10 persons accompanying her includes family, friends and staff. Priyanka visits Chharabra every summer, often accompanied by her mother, AICC president Sonia Gandhi. However, the Covid-19 pandemic has kept her away this year. She recently moved to Gurugram after vacating her Delhi bungalow.
Sources say Priyanka has sent the request to the Shimla DC with an assurance that all visitors will carry Covid-19 negative reports and adhere strictly to the 14-day home quarantine norm. However, the permission is yet to be granted since some formalities have yet to be completed.
Priyanka had moved into her house after performing puja during the Navratras last year. She had purchased 4.25 bighas in 2007 after the then Congress government accorded her, a non-Himachali, special relaxations to purchase land in the state. — TNS
