1.20 kg heroin seized from 2 drug peddlers
The Sangrur district police today arrested two drug peddlers from Sherpur area and seized 1.20 kg heroin, 10 kg of ‘bhukki chura post’ (poppy pod powder), Rs 4.15 lakh drug money, a car and a scooter from them.
Sangrur SSP Sartaj Singh Chahal said here today that those arrested were Devinder Singh, a resident of Tibba village (Sherpur), and Hardeep Singh of Longowal village. He said nine cases had been registered against Devinder, while two cases had been registered against Hardeep.
The SSP said that a police party was present at Barri T-point when it got a tip-off that Devinder and Hardeep were going in a car to supply heroin and poppy pod powder to some customers in villages. After getting information, the police nabbed both, he added. — OC
