Ferozepur, August 31
The Ferozepur police have seized 1.28 kg heroin along with Rs 14.80 lakh drug money and arrested four persons in two separate cases.
SSP Saumya Mishra said following a tip-off the police carried out a search operation near Bare ke village, situated around 3 km away from the international border. “During the search operation, the police seized 1.28 kg heroin, which was probably delivered from the Pakistan side with the help of a drone,” said the SSP. The police had started the investigation to identify those involved in the case, the SSP said.
An FIR under Section 21 of the NDPS Act and Sections 10, 11 and 12 of the Aircraft Act has been registered at the Sadar police station.
In another case, sleuths of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) nabbed Gurbhej Singh, alias Bheja, of Jheete Kalan village in Amritsar; Arshdeep Singh, alias Arsh, of Kalanaur in Gurdaspur; Paramjit Singh, alias Pamma, of Ruknewala village; and Surjit Singh of Kuti village in Guruharsahai.
“Following inputs, a naka was laid near the main chowk in Zira during which the accused travelling in a car (PB-10-DM-6260) were nabbed and Rs 14.80 lakh drug money seized from them along with 20 gm heroin,” said the SSP. Those arrested have been booked under the NDPS Act.
