100 peddlers nabbed in last 3 months in Anandpur Sahib: Harjot Singh Bains
Punjab Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains today participated in a drug-free awareness march under the ongoing "War Against Drugs" campaign of the Punjab Government at Basowal village in Anandpur Sahib Assembly constituency.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Bains said in the past three months, the Punjab Police had put 11,000 drug traffickers behind bars. In Anandpur Sahib constituency, over 100 drug traffickers had been nabbed and imprisoned, he said.
He further said the AAP government’s mission was to completely free the constituency, the district, and the entire state of Punjab from drugs. "Until we rid Punjab of drugs completely, we will not rest," he said.
The minister Bains urged the public to contribute their part in this fight and share information about drug traffickers via the WhatsApp number released by the Punjab Government and Punjab Police. He assured that the identity of informants would be kept completely confidential, which is why only a WhatsApp number has been provided. He also said some individuals were misusing this facility, which was not appropriate.
