10,000 litres of illicit liquor seized in Fazilka
The Jalalabad police conducted a raid at Mahalam village of Jalalabad subdivision in Fazilka district and seized 10,000 litres of countrymade illicit liquor, popularly known as ‘lahan’. It also destroyed two running distilling units from the house of bootleggers. However, the miscreants, upon receiving information regarding the raid, managed to flee from their houses.
Jalalabad DSP Jatinder Singh said on the instructions of Fazilka SSP Varinder Singh Brar, the seized ‘lahan’ and distilling units had been destroyed on the spot.
DSP Jatinder said the bootleggers involved in the trade were on the run. He said they would be arrested soon.
