Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr Baljit Kaur has said that Rs 1,042.63-crore financial assistance has been provided to widows and destitute women in the state till January, 2025.

She said around 6.47 lakh widows and destitute women in the state were benefiting under the scheme. She also highlighted that under various schemes, the state government had disbursed Rs 5,555.94 crore till January 2025.
