Government agencies and private millers have procured 149.50 lakh tonnes of paddy in the state till November 11, rendering MSP benefits to 10,32,546 farmers.
Disclosing this, an official spokesman of the government said of the total purchase from various procurement centres in the state, the government agencies procured 148.52 lakh tonnes of paddy, while 98,171 tonnes has been procured by millers. Pungrain has procured 6,16,4027 tonnes, Markfed 38,16,248 and Punsup 30,17,919, while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation procured 16,53,974 tonnes paddy. The Central agency, FCI, procured 1,99,854 tonnes of paddy.
As per the 72-hour norm, 97.31 per cent lifting of the purchased paddy has been achieved, he informed.
