Farhan Siddiqui developed a relationship with the wife of a Class IV employee while working in Moga. The two even travelled to Allahabad, where they stayed for 20 days. However, when the woman returned to Dharamkot in Moga, she refused Farhan's request to accompany him back to Allahabad. Enraged by her refusal, Farhan allegedly kidnapped her 13-year-old son, Sarthak, from the Dharamkot area of Moga four days ago. He then took the boy to Allahabad and began threatening the mother over the phone, stating he would kill her son if she didn't join him.

Following a complaint from the family, the police initiated an investigation using technical surveillance and mobile location tracking. When the location indicated the child had been taken to Uttar Pradesh, a team from the Moga police reached Allahabad. With the help of local police, a cordon was set up near the Alu Mill tri-section in the Shivkuti Police Station area of Allahabad, where the accused was intercepted and arrested along with his car.

The child was found completely safe and was handed over to his family after a medical examination.
