14 Punjab districts in 'Ati-Uttam' school education category

Rajasthan has been ranked number 1 in school education on the Performance Grading Index for Districts (PGI-D), 2019-20. Three of its districts have been made it to the ‘Utkarsh’ grade (score of 81% to 90%). Sikar, Jhunjhunu and Jaipur districts have performed best in the state.
The other states which performed well in the first-ever report are Punjab with 14 districts in the ‘Ati-Uttam’ grade (score of 71% to 80%), followed by Gujarat and Kerala with 13 districts each in the category.
Gurdaspur and Nawanshahr districts have topped the ‘Ati-Uttam’ grade in Punjab, followed by Ferozepore, Jalandhar, Sangrur, Hoshiarpur, Fazilka, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Bathinda, Kapurthala, Mansa, Faridkot and Moga. Chandigarh has also been listed in the category.
So far as Haryana is concerned, Panchkula, Bhiwani, Palwal, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Ambala, Yamunanagar and Nuh have been put under the ‘Prachesta-1’ grade (51% to 60%) category and the remaining under ‘Uttam’ (61% to 70%). Meanwhile, Sirmaur, Solan and Lahaul and Spiti in Himachal Pradesh have been categorsied under Prachesta-2 (41 % to 50 %) grade.
No district managed to secure the ‘Daksh’ grade—a score of more than 90% of the total points.
