16-year-old kin of ex-MLA Sheetal Angural stabbed to death in Jalandhar
The victim was attacked by three youths armed with a sharp-edged weapon following an argument in Shivaji Nagar of Basti Danishmandan area
A 16-year-old boy, a relative of former MLA and BJP leader Sheetal Angural, was stabbed to death late on Friday evening.
The victim, identified as Vikas, was attacked by three youths armed with a sharp-edged weapon following an argument in Shivaji Nagar of the Basti Danishmandan area.
The assailants fled the scene, leaving Vikas bleeding profusely on the road. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Angural reached the spot and alleged that the teenager was killed due to a drug-related issue.
BJP general secretary Ashok Sarin condemned the brutal murder and blamed the Punjab government for the incident. He alleged that the easy availability of narcotics in Jalandhar West had turned the area into a den of criminals.
Meanwhile, officials from Division No. 5 police station reached the spot and initiated an inquiry.
CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify the accused, they said. The main suspect in the case is Kalu, a youth from the same locality.
