17 slum kids get smartphones

Fazilka, November 17

The process of distributing smartphones among needy students under the campaign ‘Padhega Fazilka to Badhega Fazilka’ is going on as 17 more phones have been provided to slum area students by Bollywood actor Sonu Sood and Fazilka resident Karan Gilhotra, president of the PHD Chamber of Commerce, Punjab Chapter, of the district.

On the appeal of NGO Robinhood Army, 13 students belonging to slum areas have been provided phones free of cost to pursue their studies online.

Gilhotra said four more phones had been provided to girl students on the recommendation of Sujata Narang, president, Women Welfare Society.

Sood and Gilhotra have already reached out to hundreds of students to provide them the smartphones to enable them pursue their studies.
