180 kg poppy husk seized

The police on Monday intercepted an oil tanker at Manaksar terminal near Suratgarh flyover on the Sriganganagar-Bikaner highway and claimed to have seized 180 kg of poppy husk from its occupants. The accused, driver Gurmail Singh (25) of Kotkapura and his assistant Manjit Singh (40) of Bathinda, have been held under the NDPS Act. Preliminary investigation reportedly indicated that the accused had got the consignment from Jodhpur’s Bap area on Sunday. OC

The income tax case against Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh was adjourned till March 21 as the judge was on leave. The case was fixed for hearing of arguments on Monday.
