As many as 191 candidates are in the fray after the last date of withdrawal of nominations for the elections to the municipal councils of Tarn Taran, Dera Baba Nanak (Gurdaspur) and Talwara (Hoshiarpur). The polling will be held on March 2.

State Election Commissioner Raj Kamal Chaudhary said the number of candidates left in the fray for the MC poll in Tarn Taran was 113, followed by Talwara (41) and Dera Baba Nanak (37).

The counting of votes would take place on the same day at the polling station itself, after the completion of voting, he added.
