Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said, “We received specific intelligence early this morning that the accused were spotted in the Rajasansi area. Special police teams, including those from CIA and Chheharta police, were deployed to nab them. When the Chheharta SHO tried to intercept the suspects, they abandoned their motorcycle and fired at the police."

During the exchange of fire, Head Constable Gurpreet Singh was hit in the arm, while a bullet grazed Inspector Amolak Singh’s turban. Another bullet struck a police vehicle. In self-defence, Inspector Vinod Kumar fired back, injuring Gursidak. Meanwhile, the other suspect escaped.
