2 bodies recovered from canal

Abohar: The bodies of a woman and her 3-year-old son were recovered from a sub canal on Tuesday. The vicitms have been identified as Shobha and her son Avi. The duo went missing from Kundal village on Sunday and search was under way to trace them. Nar Sewa Narayan Sewa chief Raju Charaya said someone informed them about two bodies floating in a sub canal between Panjkosi and Khuyiansarwer near Koyalkhera villages. Assistant Sub-Inspector Resham Singh reached the spot and got the bodies shifted to the Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital. Shobha’s parents in Sriganganagar have been informed and further proceedings will be initiated after their arrival. OC

Channi gives nod to PITEX-2021

Chandigarh: Acceding to the request of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday, gave nod to organise Punjab International Trade Expo (PITEX ) at Amritsar from December 2 to 6. Channi also accepted invitation to inaugurate the expo with a thrust on promotion of tourism across the state. The Chief Minister also directed the Industry and Tourism departments to make elaborate arrangements in advance to organize this mega event. Earlier, Industries & Commerce Minister Gurkirat Singh Kotli, who accompanied the PHDCCI delegation led by its chairman Karan Gilhotra, called on the Chief Minister. Kotli apprised the Chief Minister that the PITEX would offer a healthy platform to traders and manufacturers from five to six countries will showcase their products in order to boost economic activity in the region.
