The suspects, identified as Balraj Singh, alias Ballu, and Pawan Kumar, were wanted in connection with several crimes, including snatching, robbery and murder bids. Acting on a tip-off about their presence in the city and plans to execute a major crime, the police set up a barricade to intercept them. During the operation, Balraj Singh opened fire on the police, but was injured in retaliatory firing. He was subsequently taken to the Civil Hospital for treatment. Pawan Kumar tried to escape, but was apprehended by the police.
